Mad Score!

A few weeks ago, I woke to the sound of a dude peddling his wares outside of my San Francisco apartment window. Turns out said dude was an international tape collector, Rick Foust, who had to get out of town quick and could not take his tapes (200-300 rare 70’s tapes from Thailand and India). We get to chatting and the plot thickens; he is the same collector who contributed several of the key tapes that Sublime Frequencies used to compile their recent Saigon Rock and Soul: Vietnamese Classic Tracks 1968-1974 release. After looking at the first layer of tapes in the first box, I knew that this was one of those once-in-a-lifers, so I ran to an ATM and bought the whole lot.

So, what does a dude with hundreds of Thai tapes and no time to listen to hundreds of Thai tapes do? He gets sane and donates them to his favorite international music collective, Dublab! Stay tuned for some awesome Dublab curated Thai tape compilations, courtesy of Rick Foust… wherever he may now be.
